Frequently Asked Questions

How long is a session?
During a session with children, I like to take the time to get to know the children, so that they are comfortable with me.  I like to play with them to get them to be as  natural as possible.  Plan on 1-2 hours although most sessions take 45-80 minutes.

Also, to avoid distractions, only those being photographed should be on location.

Where does the session take place?
All sessions are done on location using natural light, suggestions include: parks, beaches, your home, anywhere special.

How many images are taken?

Because Moments in Time Photograpy wants to capture the perfect, naturally candid photo every time, lots of pictures are taken.  Anywhere between 30-75 images will be presented.

What should we wear?
Something simple and comfortable!  Basics are best, as they keep the focus on you and not your clothing  The best suggestion is neutral outfits without big logos, designs or writing.  Texture, such as denim and sweaters, make a black and white image rich with definition.  Also, barefeet, khakis, overalls and babies in birthday suits all photograph beautifully.

What does the sitting fee cover?
The sitting fee is a flat rate that covers the cost of the photographer’s time.   The fee is for immediate family only and includes the slideshow.  In addition, Moments in Time Photograpy will do minor touch ups to all photographs.

What time of day is the best time to take the photographs?
Morning and evening hours are the best…the sunlight is best in midmorning (9:30 – 11:00 am) and early evening (6:00-7:30 pm), overcast days are also excellent for shooting.

Sometimes the weather does not cooperate and your session needs to be rescheduled.  If this happens, I will contact you first thing in the morning and plan accordingly.
